Biomedical Engineer and Research Scientist
I’m Nicole, a Biomedical Engineer from the Greater Boston Area. My interests and experiences are rooted in wearable technology and human biomechanics, focused on translating ideas into real-world impact.
At Delsys, Inc.,I designed both non-contact (camera based) and wearable sensing systems for evaluating human performance in defense and clinical applications.
Prior, I completed a research fellowship with the DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory where I collaborated with NIWC Pacific and the UIC Rehabilitation Robotics Lab to lead the development and implementation of EEG-based, passive brain-computer interfaces for optimizing human-exoskeleton interactions.
I completed my graduate and undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont (UVM) while working as a research scientist in the M-Sense Research Group funded by the Stanford University Restore Center. I co-authored multiple research papers, assisted in teaching multiple courses, and participated in several entrepreneurship endeavors. I successfully defended my master's thesis titled "Developing Muscle Synergy Functions for Remote Gait Analysis" in December 2022 (watch my defense here on YouTube). I received recognition for translating complex ideas into successful projects and my dedication to achieving the highest standards in the field.
I find inspiration in interdisciplinary collaboration and am a self-starter dedicated to making an impact on the healthcare industry. More information about me is available on my resume.
